My attempt on making Nasi Tumpeng for hubby&039;s surprised bday lunch at his office.
Nasi Kuning is a celebratory dish from Indonesia, usually served in bdays, wedding etc.
Nasi Tumpeng is made of yellow rice (made with coconut milk, turmeric, lemon grass and lime kaffir leaves) or plain white rice. Served with different sorts of proteins, tempeh, noodle/rice noodle, potato frikkadel, sambal, salad, egg (here I made marbled tea eggs). Garnish beautifully with carved vegetable on banana leaves decoration on top of "tampah" a traditional platter made from bamboo.
